Kybella Injections
A series of small injections of deoxycholic acid permanently destroys the fat cells beneath the chin.
— Aesthetic Medicine · Atlanta Metro

A short in-office injection session.
Destroyed fat cells do not return.
Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable for this.
Most patients need a small series for full effect.
— Our Approach
Treat the fat and the skin — not just one.
Kybella is a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a molecule your body naturally uses to break down dietary fat. Injected into the pocket of fat beneath the chin, it destroys those fat cells permanently, and once gone they cannot store fat again.
A defined jawline is not only about fat, though. When skin laxity is part of the picture, we combine Kybella with radiofrequency tightening so the contour looks crisp rather than loose — the difference between a treated chin and a sculpted one.
A sharper profile comes from addressing both the volume and the skin.
— How It Works
A series of small injections of deoxycholic acid permanently destroys the fat cells beneath the chin.
Exilis RF firms the overlying skin so the new contour looks smooth, not loose.
Most patients reach their goal in two to four sessions spaced about a month apart, dosed to the fat present.
A non-surgical alternative to neck liposuction or a lower facelift, with no incisions and minimal downtime.
— Common Questions
Yes. Kybella permanently destroys the fat cells it treats, and those cells cannot regenerate or store fat again. Once you reach your goal, repeat treatment of the same area is usually unnecessary, though significant weight gain can affect the surrounding tissue.
Most patients need two to four sessions, spaced about a month apart, depending on how much submental fat is present and the contour you want. We assess the area and give you a realistic number at your consultation.
Little to none for the procedure itself, but it is normal to have swelling under the chin for several days to a couple of weeks after each session, since that swelling is part of how the fat is broken down. Bruising and temporary numbness can also occur and resolve on their own.
Both reduce fat without surgery, but they work differently. Kybella is an injection that dissolves fat and is ideal for the smaller, precise area under the chin, while CoolSculpting freezes fat with an applicator and suits larger areas. For the chin specifically, Kybella often gives more targeted control, and we can advise which fits you.
Results appear gradually over the weeks following each session as your body clears the destroyed fat cells, with the full effect visible after your series is complete. Because it is gradual, the change looks natural rather than sudden.
